 Cainsville City Hall News

The City Council met on Monday December 2nd at 7pm at Cainsville City Hall.

Jim Binkley was present to show the Council the new “Welcome Signs” that will be placed on the East, West, and North Ends of town.

The Board voted unanimously to purchase a Utilities CD to save for future upgrades or improvements.

The April Election was announced by the City Clerk.  There are two Alderman Positions up for re-election.  Anyone over the age of 18 years old, that is a resident of the City for a year or more, and has paid their taxes can sign up for this elected position.  Sign up begins at City Hall on Tuesday December 17th, 2013 and ends on January 21st, 2014. 

The Clerk presented the Preliminary Budget for 2014.  She will present the new Budget for 2014 at the January 6th, 2014 City Council Meeting.



New Website

The City of Cainsville would like to announce the appearance of its new website, starting January 1st, 2014. will be the new website address.


It will include meeting agendas, minutes, ordinances (once they are re-codified), a place to report a concern, our City Newsletter, a Community Calendar and links to our Facebook page. 

You can also sign up for e-notifications, which will notify you with upcoming meetings or upcoming events. 


Please bare with us during this transition process. The City Clerk is trying to learn the new system as well as get all the information on the website. 

 We hope that this site will keep everyone better informed!



Cainsville Community Betterment


The Cainsville Community Betterment met on Monday December 9th, 2013 at 7pm at Cainsville City Hall.  They would like to announce they have purchased the J.W. Still Building/Old Service Station.  They are, at this time, looking for Volunteers to help clean it out.  Please contact Louise Kellner or City Hall if you are interested in helping out.  After the building is cleaned out, they will develop a plan to restore it.

Anything Vinyl, has made a sample coozie for the Betterment to sell as souvenirs.  No decision was made on this matter.

There was concern among the Betterment members about the speed of vehicles near the school.  They are looking into this problem.

The Community Garden received a donation of Flower and Vegetable Seeds from Bethany Wal Mart. 

The next Community Betterment meeting will be January 13th, 2013 at 7pm at Cainsville City Hall.


Community Building

We would like to thank everyone who rented the Community Building this year!  You have helped make this year another success in keeping this valuable asset to the Community going. 

We are happy to report that the New Central Heat and Air has saved the City $300.00 in utility costs this year.  What a wonderful  investment in our Community!



School will be out from December 23rd thru January 2nd for Christmas Break

The Assembly of God will Carol on December 15th at 3pm.

The Zion Church will hold a Christmas Program on Dec. 15th after lunch, and Caroling on Dec 18th in the evening.  Call Mary Sue Francis at 893-5278 with questions.
