Cainsville Heritage Days-October 6th, 2018

1.   PTO Breakfast—8:00 am

The PTO is having a breakfast at the school. They will be providing sausage, biscuits and gravy. Come and help support the PTO.


2. PTO Craft Show - 8:00—2:00

Support the Cainsville R-1 School PTO and browse the merchandise available from local crafters and vendors. Located indoors. Bathrooms and water fountains

available.  Sponsored by the Cainsville PTO.


3. Self-guided School Tours - 8:00-2:00

The Cainsville R-I School was first established about two blocks north of the present site. The old school burnt down and the current building was dedicated 1921. Our school holds K-12 still today.


 4. Vintage Finds & Mums - 8:00-3:00



5. Bake Sale - 8:00

Looking for a homemade sweet treat? Stop by the Cainsville Community Betterment Bake Sale.  We will also have barn board quilt blocks for sale.


6. Hwy 46 Kettle Corn 8am

Hwy 46 Kettle corn from Eagleville that’s hot, fresh,

delicious, kettle cooked popcorn smothered in salt and sugar! Located on the northeast corner of the square.


7.   Bohemian Cemetery Tours—9:00 am

Go on a guided tour to see the graves of some of the more prominent Bohemian citizens of Cainsville. Some gravestones are engraved in both English and the

old language. There will also be cook books/history books for sale.  Two miles west of town on Hwy B.


8. Story Tellers - every half hour from 10:00am-3:00pm

Located on the east side of the square.

Come sit and listen to stories of what life was like in Cainsville in the good old days. Presented by Missouri Western State University, School of Fine Arts.


9. Geocaching - all day

We have several geocaches hidden at interesting

locations all around town. Feel free to search to your heart’s content, and best of luck!! Sponsored by

Cub Scout Pack 203.


10. Art Show - 8:00 am—3:00 pm

Visit Nelson Heating and Cooling building to see some of our local art. We have some artist that have went on to draw for The New Yorker and had songs published.

Monitored by the 20th Century Club.


11. Antique Tractor Show- 8:00-3:00

Stroll around some of the old tractors and step back in time to the way farming used to be done. Located east of the square.


12. Sherri’s Outback Salon Open House - 8:00-3:00

Come to the open house and visit with Sherri and Brandi about their business, building, and homemade cookies and candy.


13. Bird Houses and Pumpkins booth- 8:00-3:00

Unique and rustic homemade bird houses and

pumpkins for sale. Bird houses crafted by Ronnie

Barton. Located next to Sherri’s Outback Salon.


14. 7th Grade Funnel Cake booth– 10am

The 7th grade class will have a booth on the east side of the square. They will be selling funnel cakes, lemon aid, and have a game. Come out and help support the 7th grade class.


15. Quilt Show– 10:00-3:00

Located in the Christian Church. Come see some of the quilts that were made by the women of Cainsville past and present.


16. Firetruck Rides 10 –11 am & 3-5 pm

Come take a ride in our vintage Firetruck. We will take a short ride around Cainsville. Fun for all ages.


17. Junior Class Pop and Water— 11:00—6:00

Come out and support our Junior Class. They will be selling pop and water on the square

from 11 am to 6 pm.


18.  CHOO CHOO BARBQUE—11:00—2:00 pm

Home cooked barbeque featuring a Homemade Steam Train Cooker/Smoker. Life size train engine located on the south side of the square. Come visit this unique cooker.


  19.  Photo Booth- all day

We have set up an area for selfies on the

North side of the Bank.


20. Horse and Buggy Rides– 1 pm

Take a short tour of Cainsville as they did back in the day. Horse and Buggy Rides are fun for all ages. Rides will start a 1 pm and will run as needed and as weather permits.


21. PEO Caramel Apples, Apple Cider & crafts 1 pm

PEO a local women's organization will be having

Carmel apples, apple cider, and handmade crafts. Step in for some yummy fall food and decorations.



22.   Cinnamon Rolls, Hot Rolls & Goodies—2:00 pm

Stop by to indulge in some homemade cinnamon rolls, hot rolls and other homemade goodies made by Hilarie Vaughn and her girls Camie and Bree.

Get them while they last.


23. History Guided Tours - 2:00

The History Guided Tours will start at 2pm and will run every 15 minutes. There are 4 locations. Tours will leave every 20 min. They will be stopping at the Depot, Baptist Church, Stoklasa Funeral Home and the History Museum. The tours will leave from the Mill off the West side of the square. Ticket prices are $1 a ticket. Tickets sold at the mill.


24.  Horse Shoe Pitching 2pm

Sign up for Horse Shoe Pitching is at the old Mill off the West side of the square. Sign up from 8am -1pm. Horse Shoe s will be pitched North side of the Christian Church. The Horse Shoe Pitching is in honor of Alan Francis, 23 World titles and counting.


 25. Rindercella 2:30, 3:30, & 4:30

KIDS, KIDS, KIDS! Come listen to the whimsical tale of Rindercella.


26. Tractor Made Homemade Ice Cream  - 2:00

Homemade ice cream made in a homemade 15 gallon Ice cream freezer, driven by a 1963 International Cub Lo Boy Tractor. Owner designed and built this machine.

Ice cream will be served with wonderful homemade pies and cobblers.


27. Homemade Pies and Cobblers - 2:00

Cainsville Christian Church will be serving homemade Pies and Cobblers to go with the Tractor Ice Cream. Pies and Cobblers will be served inside the Christian Cottage north of the square, east of the fire station.


28. Button Booth - 2:00pm East Side of the Square

Come by and make your own button to remember Cainsville.


29. Corn Hole Pitching 4pm

Sign up for corn hole is at the old Mill off the West side of the square. Sign up from 8am -1pm. Corn Hole will be played North side of the Bank.  This is fun for all ages.


30.   Cake Walk—4:00 pm

Take a step back in time and participate in our old

fashioned Cake Walk. The Cake Walk will start a 4 pm. This is something that is fun for all ages.


31. Music/Street Dance - 6-8:00

Come and join in on an old fashion street dance on a lighted “dance floor”. Music by Lifeline Bank.


32. Chili Cook Off - 6-8:00

The local Cub Scout Pack 203 will be sponsoring the chili cook off and supper. They will also have pop and water.


33. S’mores at the camp fire - 6-8:00

Come sit by the camp fire and join in on some fun and sweets with the Girl Scouts. The Girl Scouts will be teaching the proper techniques to starting a fire and roasting s’mores. Sponsored by troops 347, 482, 8259, and 8260.


34.  Hot cider, Coffee, and hot coco— 8pm

Cainsville Betterment will have Hot Cider, Coffee and hot coco.


35.  Haunted Hay Ride— 9:00

What a good way to end the night with a haunted Hay Ride.  Join in on the fun and take a haunted hay ride through some of the local cemeteries.  Loading and unloading at the old mill.
