Cainsville City Hall News

The Cainsville City Council met on Monday May 5th, 2014. 

Heather Bennett was present from AFLAC and explain all the options they had to offer.

The Board discussed a Collector’s Agreement to go along with their new Ordinances.

City Wide Clean up will be May 30th, 2014.  Set your large items out with your regular trash to be disposed of.  One appliance is allowed with the clean up if you have more than one you will have to purchase a special sticker from the City.  Contact City Hall with any question you may have at 660-893-5315.

The hill behind City Hall has been seeded with wildflower seed, to go along with the Hummingbird/Butterfly project sponsored by the Cainsville Community Betterment.  We hope this turns out to be a pretty sign coming into town this summer.

The City Council will meet with Lucille Lusk, Policy Consultant on Monday May 19th, 2014 to continue working on Code Re Codification.

Cainsville Community Betterment

The Cainsville Community Betterment met on Monday May 12th, 2014 at  Cainsville City Hall.  They are purchase window clings for the Alumni Reunion over Memorial      Weekend.

Jordan Crouse is working on a Hee Haw DVD.  It is quite a time consuming process to get the sound all leveled out, etc, but we appreciate his efforts and are looking  forward to the finished product. 

Locks will be purchased for the doors on the bathrooms at the J.W. Still building.

Sandy Cornelison reported that we did not receive any grants for the Community Garden.  The Committee voted to allocate money for them to purchase fruit tress, flowers, and vegetables for the garden.  Volunteers are needed for this project.  

Projects discussed for next year are:  refurbishing the City Christmas Ornaments,   gazebo at the Community Garden, on going hummingbird & community garden project, and the J.W. Still Building renovation

 

 

Cainsville American Legion Post 257

The Cainsville American Legion Post 257 will hold a Flag Retirement Ceremony on June 14th, 2014.

They will have supper at 6pm and the Boy Scouts will help with the Ceremony starting at 7 pm.

Please plan to attend!

 

The Cainsville Community Betterment has put new     Welcome Signs coming into Cainsville on the East, West, and North ends of town.  Please take time to look them over and thank them for this wonderful addition.

We are currently looking for Cainsville R-1 School Class or School Pictures.  Anything unusual or unique about our School.  We are also looking for Senior Class Composites.  Please contact Tara Robbins or Rebecca Deskins with your items or information.

 

Events

Community Bible School Meeting at the First Baptist Church on June 1st at 3pm.  Anyone interested in helping should attend.

Cainsville Pictorial History Books are sale for $35.00. Contact City Hall or any Community Betterment Member.

Ball Games begin soon, look at local business for Ball Schedules.

School will be out soon so please watch for children playing!

Dogs should be penned or leashed as it is Gardening  Season!

2:00pm -Welcome

4. Recognized deceased Alumni

Lead in prayer for the families and friends of these gone from our midst

5. Recognize and count classes

6. Special recognition of Class of 1964

7. give each member of the Class of 64 flowers

8. Let Class of 1964 share school memories

9. Give flowers to the oldest Alumni and youngest Alumni
